March 15, 2011DANKO JONES's video for "I Think Bad Thoughts", the third and final installment of the "Below The Belt" video trilogy, can be viewed below (courtesy of Billboard.com). The video marks the return of an all-star cast that had been previously featured in both of the band's epic "Full of Regret" and "Had Enough" videos. "I Think Bad Thoughts" stars actors Elijah Wood ("Lord Of The Rings" trilogy, "The Hobbit") and Ralph Macchio ("The Karate Kid", ABC television's "Dancing With The Stars") reprising their roles from previous videos in the trilogy, actress Jena Malone ("Into The Wild", "The Messenger", "Sucker Punch"),Mike Watt (MINUTEMEN, FIREHOSE, THE STOOGES),Frank Drank (Capitol One "Viking"),and Art Hsu ("Crank: High Voltage", "The FP").
Directed by the Diamond Brothers, Josh and Jason (video directors of the entire "Below The Belt" trilogy),and shot in Los Angeles, "mad scientist" Ralph Macchio and his assistant Jena Malone seek out Danko Jones to help finish the job on hitmen Frank Drank and Elijah Wood — as set forth in the previous videos. The first video for "Full Of Regret" was hailed as "one-part 'Sabotage', one-part Guy Ritchie, one-part Quentin Tarantino," while Spin.com called the "Had Enough" video "a noir-ish crime story that's like a Charles Bukowski novel come to life."
Previously, Danko Jones announced a March 17 show at the KUPD "St. Patty's Day Block Party" festival at Hayden Square in Tempe, Arizona performing alongside FILTER and a May 20 performance at Rock On The Range in Columbus, Ohio as part of a free pre-party show for all ticket holders attending the two-day festival. In April, the band will head overseas for a round of festival and club dates in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. More U.S. dates will be announced.
Described by Maxim as "AC/DC sniffing glue with MÖTLEY CRÜE" and hailed by SPIN as "the world's most entertaining hard rockers," Danko Jones (vocals, guitar),John Calabrese a.k.a. JC (bass),and Dan Cornelius (drums) have relentlessly toured the world over. Sharing stages with everyone from hard rock icons MOTÖRHEAD and SEPULTURA to rock heavyweights GUNS N' ROSES and NICKELBACK to musical legends THE ROLLING STONES, the Toronto trio may very well be one of the best-, or worst-, kept secrets in music today.
